The executive has more than a decade of experience in finance, investments, and port operations

As it expands its operations and strengthens its presence in foreign trade, TCP—the company that manages the Paranaguá Container Terminal—announces Claire Li as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The appointment increases the representation of women in the company’s senior leadership and marks the arrival of an executive with extensive experience in the financial management of international projects related to port infrastructure.

Claire serves as CFO of TCP, bringing over a decade of expertise in global finance and infrastructure investments, with a focus on the port and logistics sector. She holds master’s degree in accounting from a leading national finance and economics university in China and is a member of ACCA.

She launched her career at China Merchants Port (CMPort), a Hong Kong-listed company and subsidiary of China Merchants Group (CMG), delivering consolidated financial reporting and ongoing performance monitoring for the firm’s overseas projects. She later assumed senior finance leadership roles across various CMG platforms, including serving as CFO of an Africa-based industrial park and Vice President on the global infrastructure investments deal team.

In her current role, Claire shapes TCP’s overarching financial strategy, with direct oversight of budget planning, strategic capital allocation, standardized accounting operations and cross-jurisdictional regulatory compliance, driving disciplined financial management and long-term value creation for the company.

Claire emphasizes that one of the central focuses of her leadership is encouraging women to be courageous and keep an open mind as they advance in their careers. “Our unique interpersonal skills, such as collaboration and empathy, bring a thoughtful balance to the complex terminal operations, generating real value for cross-border port management,” says the executive.

The CFO points out that women make up about 24% of the company’s workforce and that there is enormous untapped potential in this regard. “TCP has strong women working on various fronts, whether in operational or administrative roles. We have incredible stories of women with more than 20 years at the company who started at the entry level, developed their careers, and became leaders in their fields. I am committed to empowering more women so they can excel, develop their skills, and build a more diverse pipeline of leaders for the future of our ports,” she comments.

Claire takes over the role of CFO amid a period of strong operational expansion for TCP. In 2025, the Terminal moved a record-breaking 1.663 million TEUs, consolidating its position as the largest container terminal in Brazil’s Southern Region and the third-largest nationwide. The momentum continues into 2026 as TCP has celebrated a historic milestone: 20 million TEUs handled over its 28-year history—with half of that volume achieved in the last decade alone. As the company continues to scale capacity, modernize infrastructure, and sharpen its competitiveness in global trade, robust financial management becomes central to sustaining this next phase of development.
