Event Provides an Opportunity for the Industry to Propose Improvements Together with the Terminal
On the afternoon of Thursday, April 23, TCP, the company that manages the Paranaguá Container Terminal, held a new round of discussions during a seminar for customs brokers. The meeting provides an opportunity for the company to present improvements in processes and services, as well as to propose new solutions to benefit the sector’s operations.
The event this April, held in honor of Customs Broker Day, was attended by TCP leaders from the customer service, commercial, flow management, regulatory, IT, and logistics sectors, and drew more than 20 participants.
“The seminar plays a fundamental role in maintaining a close and direct channel of dialogue with the Terminal’s partners. Based on the discussions we’ve had with customs brokers at recent events, new improvements have been implemented, resulting in greater process efficiency and customer satisfaction,” highlights Customer Service Coordinator Analice Lopes da Silva.
According to Flavio Demetrio da Silva, president of the Union of Customs Brokers of the States of Paraná and Santa Catarina, “this meeting was undoubtedly extremely important, not only for the connection among industry stakeholders, but mainly for discussing the daily challenges of this sector. As a representative of an entity such as the S.D.A., I was honored by the invitation, considering that our profession ensures that in this logistics sector we are responsible for the effectiveness of services, legal certainty, and legal compliance. Our compliments to TCP for the meeting, which goes beyond theoretical issues to focus primarily on practical solutions, enabling us to make steady progress in the critical flow of operational solutions with relevant agencies and maintain competitiveness, thereby strengthening both the public and private sectors.”
Some of the topics addressed at the meeting included the New Import Process (NPI), systemic improvements to the Single Import Declaration (DUIMP), and cargo presence processes.
Among the examples of proposals previously presented and already resolved are the automation of schedule distribution on the customer portal; and the automation of shipping orders following clearance of the Single Export Declaration (DUE).
Other improvements, such as the real-time order tracking system with full visibility of the service process on the Customer Portal, and the automation of the system for automatic releases for the new import process (DUIMP), were also discussed during the event and are currently being implemented.
