Professionals who began their careers and built their careers at the Terminal shared their experiences with the guests
This Tuesday (18), TCP, the company that manages the Paranaguá Container Terminal, brought together interns for a roundtable discussion on careers and growth opportunities as part of the celebrations for Intern Day. Two professionals who had previously participated in TCP’s Internship Program and built their careers at the Terminal shared their stories and professional experiences with those in attendance: Renan Erthmann Arantes, Operations Coordinator, who began his internship at TCP in 2019, and Henrique de Oliveira Alves, Electrician, who joined in 2015 as a Maintenance Technician Intern.
During the meeting, participants discussed the importance of time management, taking initiative, and courage at the start of one’s career, while also highlighting the opportunities for professional development and personal growth that the program offers. “TCP gives interns a lot of freedom to develop and advance in their careers. We’ve learned to think ahead and improve our communication skills, as well as to develop the hard skills needed to work at a container terminal,” says Renan.
TCP’s Internship Program has been in place for over 10 years and has helped develop numerous professionals interested in working in the port sector. Of the approximately 1,600 employees, 26 positions are held by interns, making TCP the private company with the most employees along the Paraná coast.
Applications for the first class of interns in 2026 closed on July 7. The 15 college students selected for the commercial, legal, operations planning and control, communications, controllership, quality, regulatory agencies, maintenance, warehousing, and logistics departments will begin their internships at the Terminal in September.
“The Internship Program has already developed many professionals who are now part of the Terminal’s staff, including leaders, and continues to train, year after year, new talent to take on the challenges of the port sector. We are pleased to be recognized as a place that fosters development and prepares people for the future,” emphasizes Felipe de França, TCP’s Human Resources Manager.
