Traffic safety campaign also provides health services for drivers
On May 27 and 28, TCP, the company that manages the Paranaguá Container Terminal, is holding the Yellow May traffic safety campaign, which this year has the slogan “On the road, seeing others saves lives.”
The event takes place in the truck screening area (pre-gate) for vehicles entering the Terminal. The campaign’s focus is to guide drivers toward adopting safe driving practices and fostering a more empathetic attitude toward other road and urban traffic users, always being mindful of pedestrians and more vulnerable vehicles.
“Drivers transport cargo from the north to the south of the country and must face varying weather and road conditions. Strengthening a culture of respect for others and the adoption of safe driving practices is essential to preventing accidents and fostering safer, more considerate traffic for everyone,” explains Kayo Zaiats, TCP’s Superintendent of Environment, Health, and Occupational Safety.
In addition to educational initiatives and activities, drivers have access to health services, such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and heart rate checks while they wait for cargo screening and vehicle inspections.
“TCP receives over a thousand drivers a day, which is why we make a point of conducting campaigns like this one, promoting health and well-being among these professionals, who will adopt a more humane and responsible attitude on the road, becoming advocates for these best practices,” concludes Zaiats.
