In November 2024, the Paranaguá Container Terminal carried out various actions aimed at the Guarani communities of the coast of Paraná, which included cultural appreciation actions and technical training offered to indigenous people.

Indigenous researchers from the Kuaray Haxa, Sambaqui, Shangrilá, Cotinga and Cerco Grande villages received training in video editing and audiovisual production. Cultural recordings were also made in the Araçaí, Cotinga and Cerco Grande villages, with indigenous people who stand out as holders of traditional Guarani knowledge.

The month also included an event addressing the figure of the Xondaro, indigenous people considered responsible for the physical and spiritual defense of the villages, held in the Cerco Grande village of Guaraqueçaba. Among the topics covered was the importance of mental and spiritual health in the lives of the Xondaro, and for the well-being of all generations.

In the village of Shangrilá, agroforestry activities included planting seedlings and a forest inventory workshop, as well as the implementation of meliponaria with the delivery of boxes of bees of the jataí and mandaçaia species, followed by training on the subject. New training courses on meliponiculture were also held in the Pindoty village on the island of Cotinga, a place that stood out for its significant production of honey from the colonies already delivered.

In addition to the cultural and educational initiatives, training workshops were held on the receptive tourism planned for the villages, which included an appraisal of the information signs proposed for installation at the village entrances.

Ongoing actions to supply water, pay scholarships, cover transportation costs, internet and telephones for the leaders were carried out so that the indigenous people could participate in the activities carried out.
