The health and safety initiative served hundreds of drivers in the sorting yard

TCP, the company that manages the Paranaguá Container Terminal, held a special event on Wednesday (16) to celebrate Truck Driver’s Day. The event took place in the sorting yard (pre-gate), where drivers wait for containers to be cleared and inspected before entering the terminal, which handles an average daily flow of 1,300 truck drivers.

Held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the event featured free services directly focused on drivers’ quality of life and daily routines. Those who stopped by had access to haircuts and shaves, as well as quick health screenings, such as blood pressure checks and blood sugar tests. This year, the event also featured a booth offering free popcorn, in addition to handing out gifts and informational brochures focused on safe driving practices.

The event also featured a discussion with truck drivers about the “Na Mão Certa” project by Childhood Brasil, which aims to mobilize the transportation sector in the fight against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents on Brazilian highways—an initiative that TCP joined in August of this year.

“We know that life on the road is challenging, and the terminal’s role goes beyond ensuring efficient operations. We also want to support those who keep the wheels turning, and that is why this year’s initiative reinforces TCP’s ongoing commitment to the holistic well-being of truck drivers, combining care for drivers’ health and well-being with preventive measures to promote road safety,” emphasized Kayo Zaiats, TCP’s superintendent of health, occupational safety, and the environment.

Technology also played a prominent role at the event thanks to an initiative by TCP’s Customer Service Center (CAC) team, which guided drivers on the features and use of the TCP GO app—a tool developed to streamline the scheduling of truck arrivals and departures, significantly reducing wait times at the gate and eliminating the need for paper and physical documents in part of the access process.

“The implementation of TCP GO allows us to optimize truck traffic, establish a direct line of communication with drivers, and enhance the customer experience at the terminal. This initiative makes our processes more efficient, with a constant focus on increasing our partners’ satisfaction,” emphasized TCP’s commercial manager, Fabio Mattos.
