The event in Shanghai brought together more than 3,000 exhibitors and 400,000 visitors

Between November 5 and 10, TCP, the company that manages the Paranaguá Container Terminal, took part in the 6th China International Import and Export Exhibition (CIIE), held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. This is the third time that TCP has taken part in the fair, which brings together companies from all over the world in the fields of food and agriculture; automotive; intelligent industry and information technology; consumer goods; medical equipment and health care products; trade in services; and innovation.

The China International Import Expo (CIIE) is an exhibition organized by China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) since 2018, and is a significant measure for the Chinese government as a way of supporting trade liberalization and economic globalization, actively opening up the Chinese market to the world. “Five years ago, I announced the decision to hold the CIIE with the aim of expanding China’s opening up and turning our large market into huge opportunities for the world. Today, the CIIE has become an example of China’s new development paradigm, a high-level opening-up platform and a public good for the whole world,” commented Xi Jinping, President of China, at the opening event in 2022.

TCP was part of the China Merchants Port Group (CMPort) stand, with three representatives: Jan Zhang, Commercial Director; Allan Chiang, Institutional Superintendent; and Carolina Brown, Commercial Manager for Shipowners, who highlighted the importance of taking part in this event: “CIIE brings together global companies, and taking part in this exhibition is an opportunity for us to connect with other companies and show how the Paranaguá Container Terminal has grown and developed since it became part of CMPort’s portfolio in 2018. Over the last few years we have invested in our structure and in training professionals, achieving levels of excellence in services and customer care with a special focus on operational excellence, in line with the main and most modern terminals in the world.”
